On September 2nd, 3rd and 4th, FESTADELMARE, the Legambiente’s national festival on the theme of “the sea,” is back in S.Lucia di Siniscola: three days full of debates, games, concerts, local food, and street art. A rich program made of tens of events every day from morning until late night.

The program is particularly variegated. Amid the many activities, there will be an area for expositions from the councils of local communities, natural parks, protected sea areas, associations and companies; a children’s space with special laboratories for environmental education; an exposition market where local artisans and farmers will present their products; and photography and art exhibitions on the seaside and at the C.E.A.

Every evening at 18:30 FESTADELMARE will host debates on prominent environmental themes with journalists, politicians, experts and entrepreneurs. The topics will be:

- WATER IN SARDINIA: lakes and underground lakes (September 2nd)
- SARDINIA CO2.0: the role of renewable energies in local development (September 3rd)
- TOURISM AND THE ENVIRONMENT: : future scenarios (September 4th)

The Festival’s eighth edition will be honoured with the participation of two figures specifically related to Sardinia’s seas: Gaetano Mura the sailor who will expose his project Gironelmondo on friday 2nd september and environmentalist Egidio Trainito, who will present his book Atlante di flora e fauna del Mediterraneo (Atlas of Mediterranean flora and fauna) on the festival’s final day.

FESTADELMARE will offer music lovers a number of concerts in Piazza della Torre. The program includes several artists. ZAMAN e ISLA SOUND (September 2nd) will offer their Reggae inspired music in a concert dedicated to BOB MARLEY for the 30th anniversary of his death. NASODOBLE will perform on September 3rd, and on the closing day the folk show BALLANDO IN BARONIA will bring together several traditional sardinian dance groups from different Baronia villages.

Food lovers and gastronomists can enjoy a variety of delicacies offered by local food producers in the daily ITINERARI DEL GUSTO at 20:30 in Piazza della Torre. For fish lovers, on Sunday September 4th local fishermen will offer a selection of sardinian wild fish during the all-free SAGRA DEL PESCE held in the fishermen’s village.

On its eighth edition, FESTADELMARE will continue to be a zero-emission festival. The AzzeroCo2 project will provide a reforestation program to balance all Co2 emissions caused by the festival.
